The most effective cold calling strategy !
Jun 2, 2023
Business development is all about getting in front of the right people at the right time. You want to make sure you’re always pitching your company and its products when someone’s going to listen, and that’s why cold calling is such an effective strategy.
Cold calling is essentially just picking up the phone and making a call to someone who isn’t expecting it. It’s not a formal meeting or an appointment, so there’s no real reason for them not to take your call. And if you do it right, you’ll be able to catch them off-guard when they answer and introduce yourself as quickly as possible.
Of course, cold calling can be intimidating—but with these tips from Zeliq, you’ll be able to get the hang of it in no time.
Tips from Zeliq
1. Find out who the decision makers are in your target company and then call them directly.
2. Make sure that the person you are calling has a need for your product or service. If they don’t, don’t waste your time—you’ll just end up wasting theirs too!
3. Make sure that you have all the information about their company before you call them so they feel comfortable talking with you and not feeling uncomfortable by asking questions they don’t know the answer to themselves!
4. Try not to sound like a salesperson—you’re hosting a conversation, not trying to sell them anything!
5. Use the 60-second rule: if you don’t get their attention in 60 seconds, hang up and try again later.
6. Always end your call with an invitation for a demo or a callback once you’ve collected some information about their needs.
But what if they say no? How do you convince them to meet with you?
If that happens, don’t give up. There are plenty of ways you can try again and get a demo.
